The Two Friends and the Bear

The Two Friends and the Bear

Two friends were walking through a forest when a bear suddenly appeared. One friend quickly climbed a tree, leaving the other behind. The second friend, unable to climb, remembered that bears don’t attack dead bodies. So, he lay down and held his breath.

The bear sniffed him and, thinking he was dead, walked away. After the danger passed, the first friend climbed down and asked, “What did the bear whisper in your ear?” The second friend replied, “It told me never to trust a friend who abandons you in danger.”

Key Points:

  • True friends stand by you in times of trouble.
  • Selfishness can destroy relationships.
  • Hard times reveal the real character of people.
  • A wise person learns from experiences and chooses friends carefully.

Moral: A friend in need is a friend indeed.
